restore previous version

A word document was saved and there were onlt 3 of 19 pages after the save.
Is there a way of restoring a previous version of a document? Thanks.

Tools -> Options -> Save -> Always create backup copy

In addition to what the others have said, if the document is still open, you
can Undo back to where it was complete.
