retrieving deleted unsaved word doc

I mistakenly did not save a document i was working on when
i closed out MSWord. I had not previously saved it, but I
did have the backup selection checked in options. I can't
seem to find it. I have done all the searches I can think
of. Where would it be stored? Is it really gone for good?
Any suggestions?

I did do a search for *.wbk to no avail

If you never saved the document, there will be no backup file. You have to
save *twice* before you get a .wbk file. See
