Retrieving Reporting DB info from PWA

I would like to customize a query to pull custom field data from the
reporting DB and add the output to PWA workspaces.

Conceptually, here's what I'm thinking:
1. Design a parameterized query in SQL Reports
2. Add the SQL Reports web part to my PWA installation (WSS 3.0) and point
it to my new query.
3. Somehow grab the GUID of the current project from the PWA page and pass
it to the SQL Query.
4. Magic happens! and I can see the data related to the current project on
its PWA page.

Is it possible? Is there a way to grab the project GUID from its workspace
and to pass it to the query web part?

Jim,

there is a 3rd party tool which does this already. Check out the iPMO report
publisher 2009. That is exactly what it is designed to do. Plus you can
publish this report into your proejct workspace document library. That will
allow you to develop project status reports that can be run on the project
workspace.
