How do I retrive a previous PST file for Outlook after
doing some "C" drive cleaning?

I know I did not delete the PST file, but its not there
anymore.
no more calendar, contacts, old emails, etc.

can someone tell me exactly the steps to look where it
might be?
help someone.
THanks!!!!

yeah, I tried that. but no luck in finding the one that I
really needed.
once its gone, is it gone--->> ?

also, what is the proper folder where it should be found?
exact location.
I might transfer a .pst from another PC to replace the
missing one. but wanted to make sure I do it correcly.

Thanks.

also, recovering data using data recovery tools. will
that bring it back?

On your Windows desktop look in the Recycle Bin and see if it's listed
there.

What version of Outlook?

Unless the data is the same you'd be just as well off creating a new,
empty, .PST than copying one from another PC.

Maybe, depends upon where it went. Worth a try, I suppose. I guess you
don't have any backups?

I'm trying to find it someone in the "C" drive.

The version I am using is Outlook 2000 with XP Pro.

.
do a search for .pst files to find your missing pst
or depending on which operating system you are running,
try my computer, documnets and settings, then your profile
name, then loacl settings, then application data, then
microsoft, then outlook, then find the pst file here in
this folder - this is what I always do at our office when
this happens to us. Hope this helps a little.

Thanks Jeff.
I've tried searching for any .pst/*.pst files. none to be
found.
I've searched in local settings/application.etc.
windows/
almost everywhere I can think of.
I am using XP Pro.
damn KAZAA. it all started because of that. wanted to
unistall it and it screw everything up.
including AOL and IE browser.
Thanks again.

have you turned ON the folder option to show ALL files and SYSTEM files?

if so the PST should be in :
documents and settings
user profile name
local settings
application data
microsoft
outlook

For XP Pro, the default PST creation path is %USERPROFILE%\Local
Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

No need to show System files. Hidden files and folders is sufficient.
