Revised Dates

I have a large word document which has several sections.
Some pages have been updated within the section others
have not. How do I put a revised date in the footer in
the update pages and not others within that section?

Hi Sally. I'm guessing that each of your sections is currently separated by a hard page break. Replace the page breaks separating your sections with Next Page Section Breaks (highlight the page break, click on Insert | Breaks | Section Break Next Page). Go back to the top of the document, and click on View | Header and Footer. Press the DownArrow key until you are in the Section 2 header. On the Header and Footer toolbar, turn off "same as previous". Press the DownArrow key again to go to the Section 2 footer. Turn off "same as previous". Repeat for each header and footer in all subsequent sections. Once "same as previous" is turned off everywhere, you can type the revision date in the footer of each section. Write back if you have problems.
