Dear Microsoft Office Team:
I just bought a new laptop with Office 2007 Basic on it. The
nearly-impossible-to-customize Ribbon is a deal-breaker for me. As a power
user of Office XP, my workflows were dramatically simplified by toolbar
customizations that I very easily added to Word and Excel. The inability to
do this in Office 2007 is, frankly, insulting.
If I had been familiar with the Ribbon before buying this new laptop, I
would never have spent the money on Office 2007, which I regard as
essentially un-usable by power users of Office XP. Tasks that I had set up to
complete in 1 keystroke now take 3 to 5 keystrokes. It's outrageous.
The only way the Office Team can redeem itself in my eyes is to add
full-featured customizability to the Ribbon ASAP. In the mean time, I'm going
to have to "upgrade" back to Office XP.
Please O Please add Ribbon customizability in the next SP.
