right click to highlight text on a web page

Hi

In an older version of Office i believe, there was either a tool, or a pack
of tools, which when installed, gave one the ability to left click and select
text on a web page, then right click and highlight it. (the highlighted text
became yellow)
Would anyone happen to know from where i can get this tool/tools pack please ?

Hello Allan, and many thanks indeed.
Yes, you are of course quite correct, it was a web accessory tool, not an
office tool.
It had been so long since i downloaded that tool, i'd forgotten what it was
exactly and from where to get it.
That tool/s is supposedly only for IE 5, but works just fine on IE6/XP etc.
If memory serves me correctly, it was you who put me on to this tool way back.

Once again, many thanks indeed.

Hi Davvid

Good memory.
FWIW, here is a little info on the accessories under IE6:

IE5 Web Accessories:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/previous/webaccess/default.asp

For IE6, a minor problem is in Images List you need to press F5 to
refresh the blank list.

This problem has always been there:
From a previous post by Ronnie Vernon MVP:

There is a bug in the web accessories.

To fix it, use Notepad to open ZOOMIN.HTM (found usually in
WINDOWS\WEB ),
and edit it to read both image dimensions before setting any of them:

old contents:
....
h = parentwin.event.srcElement.height * 2;
parentwin.event.srcElement.height = h;
w = parentwin.event.srcElement.width * 2;
parentwin.event.srcElement.width = w;
....

new contents (the 3rd line in the fragment above moved up):
....
h = parentwin.event.srcElement.height * 2;
w = parentwin.event.srcElement.width * 2;
parentwin.event.srcElement.height = h;
parentwin.event.srcElement.width = w;
....

Do the same for ZOOMOUT.HTM.

....Alan
