Risks/Issues - No tasks to link

I am running Project Server 2003, and attempting to link risks/issues
to tasks in a project. However, when I click on "Select project tasks
that are impacted by this risk", I see the message "There are no tasks
available. Either the project has not been published to Project
Server, or you do not have the permissions to view the tasks in
Project Web Access." I do not understand how this could possibly be a
security issue, as I have admin access to the whole system, in
addition to being the project manager for the specific project I am
using. I have published and re-published several times. Any thoughts?

on the homepage, next to the issues/risks, does it say "error connecting to
Windows SharePoint Services" or similiar?

Hi Ben,

Nope, I do not see that message. Just the standard "You have no
active risks/issues assigned to you."

If you are using a Project Server Account, you might not have permissions to
access the tasks from within WSS...

If you log in with a Windows Account who is a team member on the project
(and was so when the project was created) then you should be able to see the
tasks. If this is not the case, but the home page doesn't have any errors on
it, then you've a very sticky problem to solve. Work through all the WSS
settings in the Admin page and check that they are correct. Also, check the
central admin and make sure everything is valid.

It's a difficult one to solve. Good luck.

I have found additional errors, perhaps these all relate to the same
problem.

1. When attempting to create WSS site from EPM Admin page, I recieve
the error: "Windows SharePoint Services remote administration failed
to create the site."

2. When uploading document to the PWA document library, I recieve the
error: "Project Server failed to update the links in Project Server
database. Please try again later or contact your administrator."
However, after clicking OK on this warning message, the document does
successfully upload.

3. In addition to my risk linking error noted above, when another user
attempts to link risks, she recieves this message:

"Project Server failed to update the links between the risk and
selected tasks. Log on to Project Web Access and link the risk to
tasks from the Tasks, Resource Assignments, or Project Drill-down
page."

So, something is up with WSS. I just don't know what. Any
suggestions would be appreciated, and I'll keep posting as I work
through this.

That link was right on the money.

I changed the URL from upper to lowercase and the problem got fixed.

Thanks!
