Rollup/ Summary for work incorrect

I have some summary tasks in my plan that do not accurately reflect the sum
of the work in the detailed tasks. The tasks are baselined.
For example, I have 4 tasks that add up to 19 hours. This appears correctly
in the Work columns. In the Baseline Work column the sum is 119 hours. The
only thing I can think of is that I had some tasks in that grouping that I
removed and the baseline did not update to reflect the remaining tasks. Is
this expected behavior? If not, what should I be doing differently to update
the baseline if tasks are removed?
Is there something else I am missing?

Michelle,
When you say, "...the baseline did not update to reflect the remaining
tasks", it sounds like you expect the update to be automatic. Baseline
data will only update when the user updates it. With Project 2003 there
are a couple of options for having Project automatically update summary
line baseline data, but the user still has to go to Tools/Tracking/Save
Baseline to initiate the baseline update (this option may also be
available with Project 2002 - I don't have that version so I don't know
for sure). With Project 2000, summary line baseline data must be
separately updated unless the whole file is being baselined.

Hope this helps.
