rotate text

You don't. Text in a text box (or table cell or frame) can be rotated left
or right by 90 degrees, period, using the Text Direction command. To rotate
text at any other angle (in Word), you must use WordArt.

Guess what -- you can put rotated text boxes into table cells and have
angled headings. It's a little fiddly, since the table row height has
to be set separately, and possibly readjusted after edits; it isn't at
all automatic like Excel. But it's better than nothing.

That's awesome to hear! I hate how I cannot have my text upside down, like
when I am printing greeting cards on Avery 8315 stock folding cards. I want
the back of the cards to read some copyright or message, but I can only have
it upside down if I make it into word art. And then rotate vertically and
horizontally to make it print correctly.

Double click your text box or word art and it should show a Rotate Text
option, but you can only go left, right, or vertical. No upside down. :-( Not
in Word 2007 anyway. Big disappointment.

I just bought Home Student 2007 and now they are releasing Office 2010??
Great!! What a waste of money... I should have held out!! :-(

Office 2010 is still months from release--I don't believe Microsoft has said
when it will be out yet. At some point, if you need the software, you jump
on the train.

In the meantime, however, Office 2010 beta will work until October, 2010,
and it's stable and quite usable.
