Rules Won't Run

How can I get my rules to run automatically when I receive email?

Thanks for any suggestions.

Yes. they are all selected to run. I can run them manually, but they don't
run automatically. I end up seeing all of them in my inbox, and if I run
them manually they go where I directed them to (deleted items).

Are they selected in Tools-> Wizard Rules? Then they run automatically.
