Running an animated slide show within an animated slide show

I am trying to get an animated slide show to run on one of the slides of an
animated show. How difficult is this.

Save your animated slide show as a "PowerPoint Show" or .pps. Then from your
selected slide in your other show, select Insert > Object > Create from File,
then Browse to your Show (.pps), double click to insert into the slide. The
original show will run upon clicking on the slide while in Slide Show mode.

Works just fine here.

Remember, we can't stare over your shoulder and watch what you're doing or
see the same thing you're seeing there....

It won't run **on the slide**. You have to click on it to activate the
presentation, which will run full screen. It sounds like you want to see a
"mini presentation" running on your slide. There is no facility for doing this.

"Can't" is a strong word. There might be ways to get most of what you
want, but they might be more trouble than they are worth. I could imagine
creating a video of an animated slide show and displaying that in a small
box on a slide. This might give you what you want if you don't need all
the functionality of PowerPoint in the small box, just the animations to
happen in a preset order with preset timings.

Another option might be the LiveWeb plug-in
(http://skp.mvps.org/liveweb.htm). I'm not sure it plays properly in a
little window or takes up the whole slide, but it could be used to run
something (either the PowerPoint itself or the PowerPoint saved as a Web
page).

Redesigning might be your best option, but it might not be your only
option.

My initial thought was to do a slide show in another application such as
Adobe Photoshop or Photo Album and insert it as a picture. The problem is the
finished show will form part of a website and these files are notorious for
being big therefore slowing down the website beyond an acceptable level. I
think i will have to work within Ppoint's limits.
