Running in the background

I want to have an automated presentation run using a projector, and continue
running while I run another application on the laptop screen.

When the second application is being used, the presentation pauses until I
switch back to it.

Is it possible to have the presentation continue running?

Yes, it is possible to have the presentation continue running. You would need
to use an add-in like PowerShow from
