Running looped presentation and using word together

Is it possible to run a looped presentation on a second
monitor while continuing to use the PC as a standard
desktop on the primary monitor?

We have tried and it keeps freezing.

The short answer is no. PPT needs all the CPU power it can get. However,
there are third party add-ins to do this if you care to give it a try.
