running qry on either or text box

I have a form that has 2 text boxes (ESN, Serial Number). I have a lookup
table that when i enter the ESN into the text box pull in the customer info.
I have the same thing happening when the serial number is entered.

Problem: when the ESN is entered, i want to populate the serial number and
vise versa. Right now if the esn is entered and then the sn is entered and
they dont match in the lookup table, 2 customers data is populated. I want
to force them to match but let the user enter in either boxes info.

ideas?

thanks.

Daniel,

Do you mean the ESN and the Serial Number are totally dependent on each
other? I.e. if you know the ESN then you automatically know the Serial
Number, and if you know the Serial Number then you automatically know
the ESN? And do you have a table that lists these two fields? It would
help if you could give some examples, and also if you could post the SQL
view of the query that the form is based on. This article might be of
interest to you... http://accesstips.datamanagementsolutions.biz/lookup.htm

Yes the ESN and SN are linked together. If you know one you can get both.
They are both in the same table. So i need to be able to enter either or and
fill in the rest of the form including the ESN or SN whichever one is not
entered.

Daniel,

As I mentioned, it will help if you can give details of the query that
the form is based on.

Did you look at the article I mentioned, it seems to me to be relevant.
