Running video at the same time as custom animations

In Powerpoint 2003- is there a way to run a video at the same time as custom
animations without having to click on it? I've got a string of animations
and would like the video to play while they run. Once the video starts my
sequence gets messed up. Any help would be much appreciated.

Sure can, the secret is to start the animations "With Previous".

Thanks, I had tried that but only after answering yes to "Do you want your
movie to play automatically in the slide show?" It only works when I answer
NO and then change the movie setting to "after previous" and start animations
with "with previous.

Hmmm. Version 2002 sets the video to play after previous when the user
answers YES. They don't have to answer NO and then change settings.
That was changed in version 2003?

Anyway, when trying to make animations run while a video plays, I set
the video to play... whatever. After previous or on click, depending
how I want the control to be. Then I set the animations all to play
with previous, and then use the animation TIMELINE to move the
animations where they need to start (in time) and for how long while
the video is playing. It's much easier that way. For example, I can
have my last animation start just before the end of the flick and end
simultaniously with the flick. That's all made much simpler using the
animation time line. It's found in the Custom Animation task pane when
you right click on an animation item.
