Save As Excel File

I'm using Project Server 2007 on XP and I'm trying to export files to Excel.
I got the security setting all strait so I can make it happen. My real
question is: Since I have Office 2007, why is Project still trying to save
the file as a .xls instead of .xlsx? Is there someing I'm missing? Why would
it try to save is as an '03 version?
