Save graphics in word-file

I'm working with a special (very old) calculating program that presents the
results as vector-graphics. But something is wrong with this program: It
cannot save these graphics correctly. But I can copy the graphic to the
clipboard and insert it into word (Word is the only program I found that can
do it properly!).

My problem is now: Is there a way to save these graphics as graphical files
(bmp, jpeg...)?

Save the Word document, then copy the images from Word in to a graphics
program such as Microsoft Paint or Photo-Editor then save.

Thanks for your answer!
I tried copying to Coreldraw and saved it from there as wpg-format
(wordperfect) which can be imported into word again. And i works fine!

The reason why I used the wpg-format is that it handles vectorgraphics! I
have though no WordPerfect-preview-possibility on my PC, so it is a bit
troublesome!
Is there another (more common) vector-graphic-format that I can use?

It would be nice to be able to extract/export the pasted picture to a file
from Word! Is that not possible???
