Save my new template as default template when ppt opens

Can I have my own template appear as default when I open ppt, instead of the
plain white one that comes up now?

I'm on PPT 2003, XP.

In PowerPoint 2003 only, you can set a template to be used for all new
presentations. On the Slide Design task pane locate your template in the
section labeled "Available for Use" and click on it to see an arrowhead appear
on the right side. Click on the arrowhead and select "Use for all new
presentations".
