Saving a large files

How can I save or backup a large file using 3.5" disks

search on the web. there are programs free and shareware which are doing the
job you need, but I have forgotten the names, because I have a cd-writer
now.

You can't!

You either need to make the file smaller (think what is in the presentation)

or compress the file to make it smaller (think winzip and the like)
(If you are using powerpoint 97 or higher winzip will not be able to compress the file much smaller)

Or span the presentation over several disks (think winzip and spanning).

Or upload it to some free webspace, then download it at your destination.

Or CD-Writer (best bet!)
