saving as a WP5.1 dos document

In other versions of word, you could save as WP 5.1--I don't see the option in 2003--is there a way? Thanks

The appropriate filter is included with 2003, but maybe not installed.
Re-run setup from Windows add & remove programs and chose the add or remove
features option. On the next screen, check the box for 'choose advanced
customization of applications'. This will let you into the screen to select
options. You'll find the text converters under the Office shared features.
Check off the ones you need to run from your PC.

I find this curious because I specifically included *all* text and graphics
filters when I installed Office 2003, but I am not seeing any WordPerfect
options under Save As. I wonder if it's necessary to install WordPerfect
Help to get this. Or download supplemental filters from the download site.

It is certainly in the list of filters in Word setup, and it appears in my
file open list of filters ... and I don't have Word Perfect Help installed.
What I do have however, are some older filters from earlier Word versions
sitting in the common files > Textconv area of program files and it may be
that one of these older filters is providing the entry in the file open
list. It would be simple enough to check whether the appropriate filter has
been installed by re-running Office setup from Windows add & remove programs
and choosing the advanced customization option.

I see it in File Open as well but not in File Save, which is what the OP was
asking about. As I said, I specifically installed all the filters, including
the WP ones.
