Saving emails from Outlook

Craig

I have been using Outlook Express for emailing. Because of excessive spam,
I am considering to switch to Outlook 2003 (from 2003 Office Suite)..
I see that there are three formats to save emails: text only (*. txt),
Outlook template (*.oft) and Outlook message format (*, msg). I am not
familiar with oft and msg format. What are *.msg and *.oft for? Are these
formats more useful than saving in txt format? Please enlighten me. TIA.

If you want to keep the messages in Outlook, and both Outlook and OE are
installed on the same machine, just export the messages from OE to Outlook
(the Export command is on the File menu in OE).
