saving pictures from e-mails

when I try to save a picture imbedded in an e-mail I can only save as a
bitmap. is there a way to change this?

Try right clicking your mouse to see the small menu and then from there
choose an alternative depending on what you have in your computer. I think
you can also try right clicking and selecting properties; from it you should
have a "change" option.
