Saving PowerPoint 97 Files

The "save as command" records only the first letter of the
filename. However, when I run PowerPoint from the cd the
fault does not occur.

You mean when you do a File/Save As in PPT 97, only the first letter of the
filename is used? So you get, for instance, T.ppt when you use Save As on a
file name Test?

Michael:
What version of Windows are you running? In the past, this problem has been
tied to running in what is called "Compatibility mode". To find out if this
is the problem, right click the PPT icon, select Properties, and go to the
Compatibility tab. If the "Run this program in compatibility mode for"
checkbox is checked, uncheck it.
Let us know how it goes.
