Saving PowerPOint

Each time I work on my power point presentation it start
saving and continues forever. The time clock does not stop
until I do ctrl+alt+del to end task. I managed to save
to a CD and when I try to open it I get several alias
files. When I try to open the CD it will not open. the
file is over 139,000kb.
I have lots of pictures/graphics. a total of 48 slides.
PLEASE HELP. I WOULD LIKE TO DO A SLIDE SHOW FOR A DINNER
PARTY AND HAVE WORKED ON THIS PRESENTATION FOR TWO DAYS!

Don't try to save to a CD or any other removable media.
Save as a presentation to the C: drive then use the
software for the CD burner to copy it to the CD.
