In two words: You don't.

You need a scanning device that will accept 35 mm slides. I
use a HP Scanjet 3570c, concerning which
http://tinyurl.com/4oeqv says its "lackluster transparency
scans won't meet the needs of serious shutterbugs or
professionals". I guess I'm not a serious shutterbug or
professional because it meets *my* needs. YMMV.

Be that as it may. Scanning 35 mm slides is fundamentally a
hardware problem, not a software problem. Do your research
with that clue in mind.
