Scheduling

Hi

How do I stop MS Project showing a start date of say a Monday and a finish
date of Tuesday when I am only scheduling for 1 day?
I have checked the calendar settings and they seem okay.

Look forward to hearing from anyone with a suggestion.

Many thanks in anticipation.

Hi Tony,

The only way to stop Project is by not scheduling them like that :)
Go to Tools, Options, View, and select the date format with time of day (the
top one of the selection list)
Now you can see why tasks don't start at the beginning of a day.
Sometimes it's not due to Calendar options of Working time but to Project
Start.

Hope you find the culprit.

There are three primary reasons and you have to display times as well as
dates to diagnose which applies.

1: Hours per day set in the Working Time Calendar is less than the number
of hours defined as a "day" in the calendar options page.
2: Project Start Date is set to a time later than the start of the work day
according to the Working Time calendar.
3: A link from a predecessor task or a SNET constraint forces the task to
start later than the start of the workday so at the end of the day and
everyone leaves, only a part of a day's number of hours have been worked and
there's still time remaining that needs to be worked the next day.

Hi Jan
Many thanks for the quick response. However this does not resolve
my issue.
When creating a new plan from scratch there is no problem. It is
when I change an existing plan I schedule 1 day of work and the
finish date is the
following day rather than close of play on the same day. It
happens even though their is no dependant tasks starting on the
same day.

Kind regards

Tony
