Script

Does anybody know the script to have the "Link to Project" box
unchecked automatically when inserting a project? Every time I insert
a project I have to uncheck this box, if I forget it screws up my
saved projects. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for the Help,

Chad,
Checking or unchecking the "link to project" option during the Insert
Project process should have no negative effects on any subprojects. How
exactly do you believe it "screws up" your saved projects?

If you "forget" (discipline, discipline) to uncheck the option when
building the dynamic master, you can still do it after the fact. To
unlink subprojects from an existing dynamic master, select each of the
insert point summary lines in the master and go to Project/Task
Information/Advanced tab. Uncheck the "link to project" and hit "OK".

And yes, a VBA macro could be used to unlink the subprojects for you but
it seems like overkill when two simple opportunities exist to do it
manually.

I would like it to be "mindless". I used a script to uncheck a box in
Adobe. I would like to do the same here

Chad,
I'm not sure what you mean by "mindless". As I said, it can be done
using VBA (i.e. "script") but I'm not sure it is worth it.
