I believe that the SDO_GEOMETRY type is new to Oracle 10g, which Visio does
not fully support. I gathered that info from this Oracle site :

Visio's database modeling driver for Oracle supports Oracle versions up to
8.1.x, so newer constructs added in Oracle versions 9 and 10 are not
supported.
You can try using the Generic ODBC driver to see if you can bring in the
data type as a 'user defined type', but it will probably not generate
correctly, even so.
