Second CD Drive

I can't get Powerpoint 2003 to recognize my second CD drive when I try to
package to CD. It keeps trying to write it to my DVD drive. Is there any
way to change that or will I have to continue packaging to file first? I'm
using Windows XP pro - SP2

PowerPoint is pretty limited when it comes to writing to CDs. You are
better off continuing to save it to a folder and write the contents of the
folder to the CD as you have been doing.

You would need to recable the drives internally. PowerPoint (Windows really)
selects the drive cabled as Master. It's easier to pop a CD in the DVD writer,
if it is a burner capable of burning CD's, or use Package to Folder.
Regardless, I always use the latter and burn the CD with my CD burning software.
It is more robust and reliable than the Windows CD burning function.

Thanks David & Sonia. I'll keep burning the way I have. Both drives burn
CD's, but the DVD is naturally slower than my 52x CD burner.

You can disable the primary (master) drive in the Device Manager and enable
when
finished using the other drive. This should send PPT to the desired burner.
How is
the second drive connected?
