Security Templates

What is the general idea behind security templates?
I don't see how they are linked in.
Not from Users, Groups, Categories.
So how do they get hooked in?

Greg --

In the future, please post your Project Server questions in the
microsoft.public.project.server newsgroup. To answer your question, you can
use Security Templates to create a new custom Group and/or Category and
rapidly set permissions using the desired Security Template. For example,
two days ago I created a custom Group for a client that required the Group
permissions to be similar but not identical to the Project Managers group
permissions. I used the Project Managers security template to set the
permissions quickly, and then I tweaked them as needed. Hope this helps.
