send and receive

After I send and receive there is a huge delay before i can use the program..
when i receive like 200 emails theres a 30 min wait at least before the
program can be used. Its not frozen, it seems to be going through the emails
because an envalope keeps flashing in the corner. Is there a virus scan with
outlook that can be disabled or anything like this? Also Outlook tends to
take over during this and will keep popping back up over other programs. is
there any way to fix this?

I stumbled on your problem, when I was looking for a solution to not being
able to send any emails. Have you tried re-setting your email settings, by
going to Tools/Options/Mail Setup? Make sure to check "Send immediately when
connected", then click on Send/Receive. Under "Settings for group 'All
Accounts' ", I have everything checked and set to automatically send and
receive every 1 minute. Maybe the constant flow of receiving many emails
over time might not freeze up your computer by receiving 200 emails all at
once. I'm no expert by a long shot, but thought I'd contribute. Hope it
works for you!
