send button is funky

I'm using outlook 2000 on windows 2000. every now and then i try to send a
message and the send button doesn't work. i can hit the button hundreds of
times and nothing. If i save the message and close it, then reopen it and
hit the send button it sends without any problems. anyone have any ideas?
