Send button only sends email to outbox

After I compose a new email and click "SEND", the email
only goes to the outbox instead of going all the way
out. I have to click Tools/Send Receive and then send
all. It should just fly right out but it only goes to
the outbox.

Tools...Options...Mail Setup

Make sure the checkbox "Send Immediately When Connected" is checked.
