Send mail option in Word

I am running Office 97 (including word 97 and Word 2002 independently on the
same computer. My email is Lotus notes and I am on a LAN. The option to send
mail from within Word 2002 is greyed out, although all the proper boxes are
checked. I can send mail from within all of the other office applciations
including word 97. Any ideas? I really need this to work properly. thanks.

This is normal behavior when the Outlook version doesn't match the Word
version.

that would do it, except I don't hve outlook 97 ( we are not allowed to have
it). I should have clariified that I had all of office 97 except outlook (
although maybe theresome some outlook parts lurking?) How would I know that,
and how could I fix it if at all?

Thanks.

If you don't have Outlook, then why are you posting in an Outlook forum and
not a Word forum?

1. I did post to word, and under word selected an option that discussed mail
which appeared to be the proper selection for a problem that dealt in word
and in sending mail from word. If you don't think you want to try to work it
out, I'll re post. let me know. Thanks

If some other program besides Outlook is the default mail program, you're
better off posting in the Word forum, I think. You'll want to explain what
mail program you're using.
