send not working receive mail ok

When attempting to send mail my email address line always places this in
front of email address I'm sending to: =SMTP; and a pop up window reads
"outlook does not reconize one or more names"

I have checked with my ISP several times and my POP and SMTP are
configured correctly. I can receive but not able to send.

What version of Outlook are you using? Also, do you have any Outlook addins
installed?

This happens in brand new mail items that you start from within Outlook or
is it from some other source? Also, just for completeness sake, what mode of
OL2000 are you using? Check the second line here: Help menu > About

That's the version, there should be mention of the mode (Internet Mail Only
or Corporate/Workgroup)

Hang on... I just noticed that you're running OL2002, not OL2000. OL2002
doesn't have modes

So, when you open a new email from within Outlook (hit Control-N when in the
Inbox folder) the To field is already prepopulated with text? If you remove
that text and enter an address, what happens?

Not exactly sure what you want me to do but did this: opened mail clicked
Ctrl N and entered another emai address. Same reply as in my first posting

But is the To field already populated with text? Also, you're hand-typing
these addresses, correct?

no modifications. just default set up with nc.rr.com.

i cannot find the microsoft exchange server ... could this be a problem? I
have my mail account set to default roadrunner.

You shouldn't have an Exchange Server service/account setup since you're
connecting to a POP3 server.

This is a long shot but try deleting your frmcache.dat file

That's good news, the exchanger server issue. When i first tried to set up
mail that kept poping up and couldn't start outlook.

Where can i find the frmcache.dat file?? running search now but taking a
while.

This may be associated with the problem. Non of my sent or deleted items
have transfered from roadrunner to my outlook ... only recieved mail.

I found mine in the C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Local
Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\FORMS directory

Do you mean from RoadRunner's online web mail? If so, only items in the
Inbox get downloaded from a POP server.

I guess I should address the issue in my initial posting. I have tried
several times today to send new mail and click on links, email, and continue
to get the message that i have posted in my 1st posting.
