SEND RECEIVE - OPERATION FAILED

when attempting to send/receive e-mails, I get a very
undetailed "operation failed" message

I have installed a new e-mail account profile as
prescribed - but still no lck

FYI - Outlook has been working for a over a year without
issues - this started this morning
