Send/Receive Password not accepted

Can anyone tell me where to go to find out why (or fix) my account password
will not be accepted as 'saved.' I have just upgraded my CPU to WinXP from
Win98 and installed an OfficeXP suite. The Outlook program just will not
stay up as when it automatically checks my email accounts the Network
Password box keeps coming up and the account password just will not save. No
doubt it keeps trying and trying until the program crashes.
