sent items in outlook 2002

When the messages in my Outbox folder have been sent, they
are not found in the Sent Items folder. Why not and what
is the fix?

Because you have not enabled that option.

and what is the fix?

Enable the option in the "Tools>Options..." dialog box. You'll find it on
the "Preferences" tab. Click "E-mail Options" and check the "Save copies of
messages in the Sent Items folder" box.
