Sent Mail Not Posted to Sent Folder - Option Box Checked

Using XP (Home) 2002 SP 1 and Outlook 2000 SP-3 (9.0.0,6627). Recently, copies of my sent mail have stopped posting to the sent mail folder altho the Tools/Options/Email Options/Mail Handling Check Box is properly checked to direct a copy of sent mail to the sent mail folder. Any assistance would be appreciated.
