G'day. I have a client with Outlook 2000 setup on a machine. I also have 3
email accounts configured exactly the same (except the email account ID
info).
DNS is all good, the LAN is a 100MB Cat6 and all the latest service packs on
for Office 2K and Win2K Pro.
When we do a send/receive (either ALL or selectively), one account always
gets the following error:
Outlook Express error 0x800ccc0f: Your server has unexpectedly terminated
the ... Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL):
etc.
Here's what I've done to date:
1) checked this link: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=813514 as well as
others to no avail - Failed again,
2) deleted the account (cleaned up the registry etc), then recreated it. The
same thing occurs - Failed again,
3) deleted the account from my Exch2K server, made sure the mail box was
purged,
4) created another TEST account and configure Outlook accordingly - this
worked fine,
5) recreated the original account - Failed again.
The only thing this account has that is unique from the others is that it
has a DOT (i.e. period) in the login id and alias.
I removed the Period (i.e. made the account name all one word) - Failed
again.
I then deleted the account from my server, and created the mailbox on a
second server - Failed again,
I've uped the MTU parameter on my clients firewall (as per MS recommendation
as well as others) - Failed again.
I replaced the DNS name for the mail server with the IP address - Failed
again.
Finally, it does not fail at the same point - it is random, so I can assume
it's not an actual Mail Message or an attachment causing the problem.
Any ideas.
Thanks...
