Server Extensions Support on my PC

If you are running a Microsoft OS that includes Internet Information
Services, yes. You can create server-based webs locally.

Some of the neater features of FP 2003 require "server extensions support."
I'd like to test some of these features on my PC before publishing my web,
e.g. forms and some other database capabilities. Is there a way to do that?

I'm using XP. Is it possible to download IIS or in some other way get it on
my system?

Which XP? Home? Nope - can't do. Pro? Sure - just install and configure
it. It's on the distribution CD.

I'm using XP Home but another computer, connected via a LAN, is using XP
Pro. Is there a way I can utilize IIS that are installed on the other
computer? Would this mean publishing my web to that computer?

If you want to use Server Extensions on a web, it must be hosted on a
Windows IIS web server. So, yes, you would publish it to a web (HTTP)
location (URL) on that machine.

Great question with some very good ideas but I do not know enough to put them
to use. Is there a resource that I can tap to use WindowsIIS web server on
my machine, OS is XP PRO and FrontPage2003.

Would love to be able to test a site fully without having to publish to my
web hosting location.

XP Pro comes with IIS. All you have to do is install it from the OS
installation CD. Make sure to elect to install the server extensions.
