Setting an appointment

When I am in Entourage Calendar and click the "new" icon to set an appointment. I follow the instructions and the date and time for the appointment is clearly in the future. When I attempt to save the appointment, I get the following message: "You have entered a date for this event that is in the past. Are you sure you want to save this change?" However, the date listed is clearly in the future. What's going on here? Arthur
