setting Max Unit for resource

Hi..
I'm dee, I want to ask bout this problem :
if we assign one resource to 2 task, for example :
task A : with duration (20-23July)
task B : with duration (23-24July)
if he divides max unit (unit availabilty) = 50% for task A, and 50% for task
B, what should I do?
I have set the max unit in view - resource usage - resource information
and set the resource availability :
available from available to units
20July 22Jul 100%
23Jul 23Jul 50%
24Jul 100%
But, it doesn't affect the work for 23July (the total work is still 16 hourse)

Dee, to do this, you shouldn't touch max units but adjust assignment
units. Follow these steps:

1. Create the task. Make it fixed duration, non-effort driven;
2. Set the task durations;
3. Add the resources for 50%

Project will automatically calculate the Work.

ok thx, it's tue for one resources, the work will split into 2 time work, 4
hours for task A and 4 hours for task B.
How about if we choose task (with fixed duration), and assigned to 2
resources (Andy and Roby), while Andy only can work with unit = 50%?

Same principle. Just assign each resoure at the desired percentage.
