setup stops and locks up

I have been trying to install Office Professional Edition
2003 on my Windows XP professional computer. It always
stops and locks up while in the initial stages. This also
happens when trying to install Office updates. I have
restarted numerous times and started over. Nothing seems
to help.

Do you have Administrator privileges? If not...

Log in as Administrator (or any account that has Administrator privileges).

Then try installing AND updating Office again.
