Sorry if this is a cross post but I think my previous went to the wrong
place. I am designing a frontpage site and FP adds a GAP between the left
shared border and the body of the text...how do I get rid of theat gap?

Thanks

By not using a Shared border.
Consider an include page instead.

Really there isn't a way to prevent it, you just have to live with it. Some
here are obviously down on Shared Borders, but when done right it can be a
great help in setting up hierarchical links. That is something you will need
to write yourself with the Include Page. Also, the Include Page tries to
hijack your entire page, so there are drawbacks to that as well.
