Shared calendar shows items local Outlook does not

Yes, I have a customer who is frustrated because his local Outlook profile
will fail to remind him of an appointment that his secretary is aware of. He
shares his caledanr with her and sometimes hours or days will go by where she
sees an appointment in his calendar and reminds him and when he checks, he
does not see the appointment.

Obviously this is a sync issue. Can someone give me a detailed list of
things to check and try...besides Office diagnostics, reapplying the service
pack, or reinstalling Outlook or Office.
