sharing a calender w/o exchange?

I have a 2 computer network (mine and my wife's) .. Mine runs Windows XP
with Office 2003, and hers runs Windows 98se with Office 2000.

Is there any way to have a calender (maybe task list, too) that would
accessible by both computers?

I'm thinking maybe a .pst file that is shared on the network somewhere.
