Show another program from within PowerPoint

Hi,

Is there a way to show another program from within PP? ie have a window
that is like a movie but instead of showing some prerecorded video it shows
another program that is running on the same PC.
Alternatively, can I switch briefly to another program under slideshow
control?

You can use alt tab to switch to another open program. If the second program
is in a minimised window it will appear over your show and seem to be part of
it.

Alt Tab doesn't do it for me unfortunately. I want something that will change
to another program every time a particular slide comes around in a looping
presentation. Of course getting back from the external program is also a
problem I guess. The best option would be the first way I suggested -simply
displaying the window of an external program within PP.
