Show shaded text in table cell when used in header?

MarkV

I inserted a small table in the document header. I use
one of the cells as a label (ie Author)and then use the
adjacent cell to hold a name. I set the shading for the
label cell to 25% gray. I then type the text "Author"
into the shaded cell and the authors name (ie Jane Doe)
into the adjacent non-shaded cell.

When I set document View to Page Layout, the cell set with
shading does not show the text that was entered,
it's "covered up" by the gray shading.

Is there a way to have the text in the shaded cell
displayed when using page layout?

Hi Mark,

Not sure what version of Word you're using. My Word 2002
has only Print Layout (not Page Layout).

Word automatically shows the Header in a lighter tone for
Print Layout (I guess so you'll know it's the Header).
You could maybe try setting your grey percentage to 10 or
15% - or change the color of your font to white
